El hecho de estar bajo soberanía británica durante 74 años de este siglo influyó notablemente y dejó una huella aún patente en la isla, principalmente en la zona del Puerto de Mahón y alrededores.
Con la voluntad de compartir este rico legado, se está articulando una red cultural que incluirá elementos arquitectónicos, culturales, etnológicos, lingüísticos, gastronómicos, etc. para el disfrute de habitantes y visitantes.
El Fuerte de Marlborough, fortificación defensiva de esta época excavada en la roca en forma de galerías subterráneas, contraminas y un foso, será el centro de interpretación donde adentrarse en el pasado británico de la isla. En este mismo fuerte, además, se recrearán los distintos asedios a los que fue sometido. Será, por lo tanto, una experiencia imprescindible al visitar la isla.
Si dicha visita se realiza en el año 2011, especialmente a lo largo del mes de mayo, podrán revivirse costumbres y tradiciones que los menorquines conservamos vivos todavía.¡El auténtico sabor del pasado!

The eighteenth century was winding to the island of Menorca. The continuing disputes over control of the Mediterranean made the island prized possesion fought over by the British, French and Spanish. Being under British rule for 74 years left it's mark greatly influencing many features on the island, mainly in and around the Port of Mahon. With the desire to share this rich legacy, we are initiating a cultural network that will include British architectural, cultural, ethnological, linguistic and culinary influences, for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.
